The first step is for you to contact me by phone, email, or fax. Our first discussion usually revolves around you, your current bikes, the kind of riding you do, and what your expectations are. If you are comfortable with our first interactions and want to move forward, you can secure your spot in line with a non-refundable, non-transferrable $400 deposit. Deposits can be made by check, money order or PayPal to bikes@zanconato.com. You can then download the order, fitting, and paint forms, fill them out, and send them over.
After I have reviewed your forms and worked up a design, I will send over a complete build sheet including every detail of your new bike. We will be on contact with each other through the whole process, and you will be given updates along the way. After you have confirmed your new bike, your frameset goes in the queue. We will also confirm component specs at this time. Payment for component packages will also be due at this time. This ensures there are no hold-ups due to components being out of stock and also rules out any component price increases.
An additional payment of $1000 will be due when fabrication commences. When your bike is complete, I will contact you regarding shipping, delivery, and balance due (including shipping charges). I try to make the process as interactive and informative as possible. At the end of the day, I want you to have fun with this. After all…it’s a bike. It should be fun!
I am currently taking ordes for delivery in late 2010.
